Owner and Master stylist of Isla James Salon, she named the salon after her fierce and beautiful only daughter named Isla James. Jeffie moved to Maui in 2006 after 4 years of mainland training and apprenticeship in downtown Seattle's hottest salon called VAIN. Since then in between being a mother of 3 she has passionately continued her education annually with advanced classes in cutting, color, and styling in New York, New Jersey, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Portland, Oahu, and Seattle. She specializes in Balayage, Color Melting, Highlighting, Cutting, Extensions.......all things HAIR!!! Her personal professional philosophy is that healthy hair is beautiful hair, and it's most important to work with your natural beauty and to gently enhance what you were given. A Maui lifestyle is generally hard enough on the hair with all of the exposure to sunlight and salt water so using the absolute best in products treatments is top priority.

My name is Tahira, and I grew up right here on the beautiful island of Maui. With eighteen years of experience in the hair industry, I’ve dedicated my career to mastering the latest techniques and trends. I specialize in balayage and lived-in color, focusing on creating effortlessly beautiful, natural-looking hair.
I’ve had the privilege of training with industry leaders, including Lo Wheeler Davis, Guy Tang, Jack Howard and Adrianne Dara among many others. My education spans from the Di Pietro Todd Academy in San Francisco to specialized courses with brands like Bumble and bumble, L’Oréal Professional, SEVEN Haircare, Redken, and Blonde Solutions. I’ve also taken part in numerous independent cutting and color courses to stay ahead of the game with evolving styles and techniques.
